I offer both in-person and online sessions through a HIPPA compliant service.
Due to the COVID-19 concerns, I have adapted my practice for both online and in person sessions.
I am an integrative counselor/therapist: that means that I can utilize several therapeutic modalities – I don’t believe one specific type of counseling or therapy works for everyone. I view each client as unique and apply the modality or modalities that I believe will best suit you.
In general, I help my clients to challenge their dis-empowering thoughts and replace them with more positive ones. I also teach them to have compassion and patience for themselves as they make changes. It’s important to be polite and kind with yourself as you are learning something new.
I am well-versed in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Acceptance Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and a Psychodynamic Therapy. I am a Certified First Responder Counselor. I am also trained in Mental Health Integrative Medicine.
I may use one modality with you or a combination. I will explain to you the bases of these modalities, so you don’t feel that “something is being done to you.” I want you to feel that you have input, safety, and control during our sessions.
